Dr. Horace Chang, and Permanent Secretary Mrs. Genefa Hibbert, at the Ministry’s New Kingston Offices on Dominica Drive.During the Meeting, Dr. Chang said that the Ministry could pinpoint several locations to build the solutions on lands it already owns. It was agreed that a Memorandum of Understanding, will be drafted for signature between the parties. The Housing Agency of Jamaica, would provide Complant with a concept and timelines for planning, designing and building the project.which is to be funded by way of a concessionary loan from the Chinese Government. The Housing Minister told the delegation from Complant, that the Ministry is currently in the process of putting together a National Housing Programme. He stated that there is a pressing need for new solutions to meet the demand backlog in Jamaica, adding that the current shortage had led to the growth of hundreds of informal settlements islandwide.Minister Chang said he was looking forward to working with Complant, to provide housing solutions for Jamaicans and expressed confidence that working together, the parties could provide much more than the 1000 to 2000 housing solutions which were discussed.Chairman of the HAJ David Chung, gave the assurance that the agency would do whatever it could to move the process forward. He said the first project to be undertaken would serve as a model to see how best the HAJ could work closely with Complant, to fulfil the pressing need for housing. Vice President of Complant, Qu Wenge, who led the team from that company, pointed to the good relations between Jamaica and China.Mr. Qu noted that the mission of the delegation, headed by Vice President of the Peoples’ Republic of China, His Excellency, Xi Jinping, who paid an official visit to Jamaica last week, was to deepen the relations between the two countries, as well as explore areas for further co-operation.Minister Chang replied that Jamaica was honoured by the visit of the Chinese Vice President, and looked forward to working more closely with the Chinese.Complant International Engineering and Development Corporation was integral to the construction of the Trelawny Multi Purpose Stadium, which was one of the venues selected to host the 2007 Cricket World Cup. by. Rob GarverA report expected later this year from the Government Accountability Office is expected to lend support to a growing movement aimed at reducing the size of the largest banks in the United States. And advocates of breaking up the big banks are standing in line with proposals for just how to make that happen. The GAO is scheduled to deliver the second half of a pair of reports on the nation’s biggest banks. The first half, issued late in 2013, found that the federal government delivered more than $1 trillion in direct support to the financial industry during the financial crisis, the majority of which went to the very largest banks. The second half will place a value of the implicit subsidy the largest banks continue to receive because of the widespread perception, cemented by the bailout of the banking system during the financial crisis, that the largest banks in the U.S. are “too big to fail.” The subsidy comes in the form of lower interest rates, because bondholders and other lenders assume that their investments have an extra level of protection because the government can’t afford to let one of the big banks fail and take the rest of the economy with it.It’s unclear how large the GAO will determine the subsidy to be, but estimates have already been made by outside experts. continue reading » ShareShareSharePrintMailGooglePinterestDiggRedditStumbleuponDeliciousBufferTumblr

(Photo by JC Wenga/Anadolu Agency via Getty Images)The World Health Organisation said it will support the Ministry of Health of the Democratic Republic of Congo to roll out the ring vaccination around the Ebola cases in Goma to protect the contacts and the surrounding community as part of its response efforts.A ring vaccination tracks the epidemic, recruiting individuals at high risk of infection due to their connection to a patient confirmed to have the virus, according to the WHO. A ring may be composed of an average of 150 people.Contacts, and contacts of contacts of confirmed Ebola virus disease patients, health care and frontline workers in affected areas, and health care and frontline workers in areas at risk of spread of the outbreak are eligible for the vaccination. The WHO’s announcement comes as a fourth case of Ebola was confirmed in the capital of North Kivu province, Goma, in eastern DR Congo.Tucked in a hilly country at the foot of an active volcano, Goma, with a population of more than a million people, lies just 7 km (4.5 miles) from Rwanda’s main border town of Gisenyi.A gold miner is said to have contaminated several people, including his wife and one of his 10 children, with the virus before succumbing to it.Seven relatives of the deceased miner have been vaccinated and returned to a hotel in Goma where they are being monitored, according to the WHO. The relatives had travelled from Goma to Birava in South Kivu province causing panic.Health workers are attempting to track people who may have come into contact with the miner.Meanwhile, Rwanda had already reopened its border with the DR Congo hours after it was closed on Thursday following news of a third death from the virus in Goma.More than 2,700 people have been infected with Ebola while more than 1,800 people in other parts of Democratic Republic of Congo have died since the outbreak a year ago, making it the second-worst on record. Between 2014 and 2016, more than 11,000 people were killed by an Ebola outbreak in West Africa.Related Teams all set for crucial Ebola vaccination in DR Congo Ebola vaccination resumes in DR Congo after security incidents
The Murcia born striker had just returned from a rather disappointing stint with Nottingham Forest, and instead of sitting around at Wolves, a return to his home country was organised. That went far better as he scored nine goals in 18 league appearances for the second-tier club, and impressed enough to attract the attention of some La Liga clubs, including Atlético Madrid. This is according to Marca, who claim that their director of football Andrea Berta is following Rafa Mir ‘very closely’ after his great performances during the final stretch of the season caught his eye.Embed from Getty ImagesIt’s explained the Italian has been tracking the Wolves loanee’s progress since his early days at Valencia, prior to his move to Molineux, attracted by his good ability in the air, solidarity when tracking back and proficiency in front of goal.Marca point out the seven goals scored by Mir since the Covid-19 restart have made him ‘one of the most desired footballers’ in the La Liga market, and while Huesca are still ‘fighting’ to keep him around longer, there are ‘many offers’ on Wolverhampton’s desk right now.Either way, the Spanish newspaper believe Mir will ‘almost certainly’ be playing in the country’s top-tier next season. The real question is with which club?by Taboolaby TaboolaSponsored LinksSponsored LinksPromoted LinksPromoted LinksTrending TodayForge of Empires – Free Online GameIf You Like to Play, this City-Building Game is a Must-Have.
