Will you be the first P16 Billion Powerball jackpot winner from the Philippines? So no historic upset in a building that has seen so many of them. Unlike Joshua, who appeared to be looking ahead in the buildup to Ruiz and then took his first loss last week, Golovkin was focused only on Rolls, who at 35 is only two years younger than Golovkin and was stepping way up in class. Now, perhaps, he can look to Alvarez-Golovkin III, probably the biggest money fight out there in a sport that could be filled with them over the next year.Golovkin weighed 163 pounds in his first fight with trainer Johnathan Banks, who liked what he saw — particularly in the lopsided fourth round.“It’s always good to get a knockout,” Banks said. “We’re going in the right direction.”Sports Related Videospowered by AdSparcRead Next There were no titles on the line, and Triple G made sure there was no stunner like Andy Ruiz Jr.’s upset of Anthony Joshua for four heavyweight belts last weekend in the same Madison Square Garden ring. A Comprehensive Guide to a Content Audit Guide to Performing Bulk Email Verification Tags:#news#twitter#web The Dos and Don’ts of Brand Awareness Videos Related Posts Tinker lets you get the word out on your event by allowing you to embed a widget with recent activity around your event. The widget they allow you to use, however, uses an iframe, which may not appeal to everyone. Each event does have its own RSS feed though, so a generic RSS feed widget can be used. We spent some time tinkering with the new service and we have some reservations. The big one: You can search for hashtags or keywords directly on Twitter’s search portal. Since Tinker does not actually have its own comment engine, all contributions made via the Tinker interface go straight back in to Twitter and, more importantly, have the same issue as Twitter posts, which is simply that there is no ‘conversation’. Your posts, either on Tinker or Twitter simply serve to enlarge the buzz on those topics, but nothing to really connect Tinker users together through conversation. This can be plainly seen on the most active events where it’s impossible to keep up with all the updates happening at any given time.Tinker has other problems too, like the standard ‘free’ accounts only allow creating events around a single keyword or hashtag. Apparently, more powerful searches are reserved for paying customers or site partners. Again, this severely limits what an average user can do, to the point where making a new event seems almost redundant. Finally, maybe it is because the service is new, but when I tried to create an event (using the occasionally used hashtag #sleep, you can see it here), it took quite a while for Tinker to show relevant tweets, then it decided to double all the tweets in the listing. On top of that, it allowed me to send several updates without confirming that they were actually posted to Twitter. As a result, I ended up spamming my Twitter friends with a bunch of duplicate tweets.Update: Samir Arora (@samirarora), founder of Glam Media sent me a tweet stating that they are looking in to the duplicate issue. Thanks Samir! phil glockner Facebook is Becoming Less Personal and More Pro… Tinker, a new service that aggregates Twitter conversations around topics, came out of private beta today. Unlike services that merely attempt to track Twitter hashtag trends or attempt to describe what context a hashtag brings to a tweet, Tinker lets its users select popular events that are already being tracked, or create their own event stream by choosing a keyword or hashtag and adding a few filters, such as ‘no swear words’ and selective blocking of individual Twitter or Tinker users. In essence, this service is attempting to build communities around keyword-based categories. Once you follow a popular event, say SXSW Interactive, you can see other people who are following the event, and who has been most active either sending tweets or Tinker posts (essentially tweets sent from Tinker), along with some helpful activity charts on the event topic. Creating a new event is almost as simple as following an existing one, just fill out a small form and your event is created. Once your event exists, you can update Twitter directly from the event page, and hopefully other Tinker users will see your update and will start following your event.
Many of us will attempt to measure the quality of our loss prevention career in terms of “experience.” When building a resume, discussing our qualifications during a loss prevention job interview, or comparing our skills and abilities with others in our chosen career field, we often use “experience” as a preferred metric to compare and contrast our level of competency, proficiency, aptitude, and expertise. However, it is often our understanding—or more succinctly our misunderstanding—of experience that often creates confusion and occasionally leads to poor performance during a job interview. Most of us have learned to distinguish the difference between experience and education. We understand the importance of education and how receiving information and building cognitive knowledge and understanding can improve our performance, but recognize the need to apply that knowledge, information, and understanding in a real-world setting in order to learn, grow, and improve. However, it’s just as important that we learn the difference between holding tenure in a position, and having experience as part of a loss prevention career.- Sponsor – Experience or Tenure?Tenure is simply the amount of time in which someone holds a position, and is not the same as experience. Loosely defined, experience is the practical knowledge, skill or practice derived from direct observation or participation in a particular activity or event. In other words, it is our ability to constructively apply what we’ve seen, what we’ve done, and what we’ve learned as part of what we do. Not all experience is positive, but even when it’s not our ability to learn from that experience can help us move forward in our careers and in our lives to make us better at what we do—and who we are. We’ve learned that experience is something that we want to build upon; moving us forward and taking us to another level in our lives and in our loss prevention career. If we are not learning and growing and building upon what we’ve seen, what we’ve done, and what we’ve learned, we are not gaining experience—we are simply building tenure. Put in practical terms, there is a tremendous difference between having five years experience as a loss prevention manager, a multi-unit loss prevention manager, or even a loss prevention director—and having one year of experience repeated five times.Express Your PassionIf we are unable to show the ability to learn and grow and develop as people and as professionals, we appear stagnant, unenthused, and often incapable of growth and development. To be the best we have to show a passion for what we do and use that passion to move us forward in our careers. We have to keep pedaling even when we have the opportunity to coast—maybe not all of the time, but certainly enough to keep us moving in a positive direction. Many will say that they understand this simple distinction, but then fail to apply this understanding as part of their resume, or during a job interview. Both during a job search and when considering an employee for promotion an employer wants and needs to see the candidate’s ability to constructively apply what they’ve seen, what they’ve done, and what they’ve learned as part of what they do. These are the signs that a career is continuing to grow. It is an indicator of potential, and helps set the candidate apart. It is the true mark of experience. How about you? Do you have ten years of experience (or whatever that number may be), or one year of experience repeated ten times? Can you communicate the difference in a job interview and show it as part of your resume? Whether you believe you have or not, it’s certainly worthwhile to take another look. Globally, over the last year there have been large numbers of both natural disasters and political turmoil. There has been the tsunami in Japan, earthquakes in Turkey and Brazil, and flooding in Australia, Brazil and Thailand, to name a few. In the US this summer, we’ve been hit with severe thunderstorms that knocked out power for days for large parts of the country and wildfires in the Rockies that destroyed millions of acres of land. Millions of people have been affected by these events.Businesses too are also often hard hit when disaster strikes. But very often the problem is that disaster preparation is seen as a low priority. Many small and medium sized companies cut corners when it comes to devoting resources towards disaster preparedness.A report from Aberdeen Research found that about 20 percent of companies have moved their Data Recovery operations to the cloud. But even cloud computing, which is often considered to be less vulnerable to regional disaster, was also hit by the recent storms which caused an outage in it’s Virginia facility. Netflix, Instagram, and Pinterest websites, for example, which depend on Amazon were affected by the outage.A report by HP found that:43 percent of businesses never reopen again after the disaster33 percent of businesses will close after two years50 percent of businesses never fully recoup their losses after a disaster.Jim Kirkos, Meadowlands Regional Chamber (MRC), said that “We need to get small businesses thinking about this. I don’t believe these severe weather incidents are going to stop. I think the days of the 100-year flood are gone.”Al Berman, executive director of the Disaster Recovery Institute, said that “Last year was the worst year we’ve had in the history of disasters.”Jim Beagle, chief executive officer of BridgeHead Software, said that “There is a lack of robust disaster recovery planning, despite the fact it appears to be a fundamental requirement for healthcare IT professionals… The situation is only going to get worse as…the datasets get larger and larger; this whole issue is becoming a growing problem for healthcare professionals.”

ConclusionThe vendors that created videos for Google Apps Marketplace deserve some credit for at least taking advantage of the YouTube channel. But what is it about trying to be cute? Some of these videos are like advertisements. That can be fine and well for a blog or for an event but it seems like a lost opportunity for a YouTube channel on Google Apps Marketplace. The Google Apps Marketplace has launched a YouTube channel to promote its third-party partners. Less than a third of the vendors have posted videos to the YouTube channel. Google Apps is not rocket science but the idea of integrating third-party applications into Google Apps is a new concept for most customers. The YouTube channel will by no means make an app successful. But it does provide a channel to explain what the product does and how it fits with Google Apps Marketplace.
